    Construction of nonuniform periodic wavelet frames on non-Archimedean fields

    In real life applications not all signals are obtained by uniform shifts; so there is a natural question regarding analysis and decompositions of these types of signals by a stable mathematical tool. Gabardo and Nashed, and Gabardo and Yu filled this gap by the concept of nonuniform multiresolution analysis and nonuniform wavelets based on the theory of spectral pairs for which the associated translation set Λ={0,r/N}+2Z\Lambda= \{0,r/N\}+2\mathbb{Z} is no longer a discrete subgroup of R\mathbb{R} but a spectrum associated with a certain one-dimensional spectral pair and the associated dilation is an even positive integer related to the given spectral pair. In this paper, we introduce a notion of nonuniform periodic wavelet frame on non-Archimedean field. Using the Fourier transform technique and the unitary extension principle, we propose an approach for the construction of nonuniform periodic wavelet frames on non-Archimedean fields

    Wavelet frames have gained considerable popularity during the past decade, primarily due to their substantiated applications in diverse and widespread fields of engineering and science. Tight wavelet frames provide representations of signals and images where repetition of the representation is favored and the ideal reconstruction property of the associated filter bank algorithm, as in the case of orthonormal wavelets is kept.     Knowledge, attitude and practices regarding HIV/AIDS among the community of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, Pakistan

    Background: The study was conducted to assess the awareness regarding Knowledge, Attitude and Practices about HIV/AIDS in the community of Rawalpindi and Islamabad.Methods: The study was conducted in Rawalpindi and Islamabad with age of 18 years and more. The data was randomly selected from 120 people having qualification of undermatric/matric/graduation/masters and above through questionnaire. The duration of the study was one year from April 2012 to March 2013.Results: Study showed that media is major source of awareness through Television (81.7%) and News Paper (67.5%).It was seen that 48.3% knew the difference between HIV and AIDS. 53.3% knew the signs and symptoms of HIV/AIDS but more than 46% did not know clinical features. Most of the community (79.2%) knew about the mode of transmission but small percentage (20.8%) did not have knowledge about transmission of disease. 85.8% knew about mode of prevention of HIV/AIDS. More than 80% of the participants suggested for compulsory screening of HIV/AIDS whereas a small percentage (up to 20%) did not suggest. Attitude of community was mix reply with positive attitude (58.3%) and negative attitude (41.7%).About 40% were in favor of health insurance whereas around 60% feel no need of health insurance to the HIV/AIDS patients.70% of the participants recommended to maintain the confidentiality of patient while 30% gave negative reply. Community was opinion that health awareness would reduce (96.7%) the risk of disease while only a small percentage (3.3%) thought for having no impact on prevention.Conclusions: The study showed sufficient knowledge and awareness but negative attitude of community towards patients of HIV/AIDS.

    Impact of Perceived Corporate Social Responsibility on Banks’ Financial Performance and the Mediating Role of Employees’ Satisfaction and Loyalty in Pakistan

    Inspired by the global increase in awareness of corporate social responsibility (CSR), this paper is an attempt to explore the influence of CSR on bank employees’ satisfaction and loyalty and banks’ financial performance. It was assumed there could be differences in the perception of CSR among employees toward the CSR initiatives being undertaken by the banks they work for. Employees’ level of awareness and extent of involvement with various CSR activities could affect their satisfaction and loyalty. This study used regression analysis for hypothesis testing. Its findings reveal that CSR positively affects employee satisfaction and loyalty as well as banks’ financial performance; employee satisfaction positively affects employee loyalty; and employee loyalty positively affects banks’ financial performance. Hence, bank management should focus on CSR from the perspective of employees to contribute to employee satisfaction and loyalty, and ultimately, to enhanced financial performance. Suggestions and inferences for future research and banking sector practices are suggested based on these results

    Intelligent Controller Based on Artificial Neural Network and INC Based MPPT for Grid Integrated Solar PV System

    Solar photovoltaic (PV) systems have become an integral part of today's advanced energy infrastructure due to its low kinetic energy, its abundance availability, and its freedom from human interference. Solar PV systems have the potential to greatly reduce our reliance on fossil fuels, but their intermittent nature means they cannot provide a constant source of electricity. The system's security should be well thought out, and it should be able to withstand a lot of abuse. The current energy system faces a significant difficulty in ensuring continuous supply. In this study, a three-phase, two-stage photovoltaic system that is managed by artificial neural networks (ANN). A DC-DC boost converter with maximum power point tracking (MPPT) based on the incremental conductance (INC) method is incorporated in the first stage. In the next step, an ANN-based controller optimizes the performance of a three-phase switching PWM inverter that is connected to the grid by controlling currents along the d-q axis. Comprehensive simulations were carried out using MATLAB or Simulink to evaluate the system's performance under various illumination and temperature conditions. Results show that the suggested approach outperforms the baseline in a number of areas. Better dynamic reactions, accurate tracking of reference currents within permissible bounds, and quick settling periods after startup are all displayed by it. These findings show that our method has the potential to greatly improve the efficiency and dependability of solar PV systems. The results of this study have implications for renewable energy in general and present a viable path toward enhancing the resilience and sustainability of energy infrastructure
